Germany 

The German consortium has been set up with partners that cover research, industrial-grade tool and service provision as well as the development and usage of ML-based application. The project consortium consists of two large enterprises. The Software AG – as one of the leading software companies in Germany – will contribute with its expertise in software engineering, data science, and AI. Siemens AG is a strategic, collaborative end-to-end provider of services, software and hardware in the industrial automation, mobility, smart infrastructure and healthcare sectors.  SpiceTech GmbH, is an innovative AI tool and service provider that has customers in automotive, transportation and financial domain. Fraunhofer FOKUS is nationally renowned for their expertise in software engineering, software quality, and data analytics. 

Hungary

The Hungarian consortium consists of an industrial partner and two universities. The work of the consortium focuses on a case study application in the health-care domain. Vitarex Studio is a software development company that will lead the development of the application, and will also contribute to the debugging methods of the deep learning model used therein. Budapest University of Technology and Economics will focus on data preparation, ML model optimization and data version control tools. Univsersity of Debrecen will provide the health-care background for the application throughout the project.

Finland

The Finnish consortium has been set up with four industrial partners and one university. Basware is a global market leader in networked Purchase-to-Pay with the largest e-invoicing network in the world. Granlund is strongly growing group of companies specialising in the construction and real estate sector to make properties more functional and smarter and to improve human well-being in the built environment. Reaktor is a strategy, design, and technology partner for forward-thinking companies and societies providing consultancy and agency services, built on exceptional competences in software and AI development, digital business and tech strategy, and product, service and organisational design. Silo AI is a private AI lab on a mission to build a European flagship AI company. We build AI-driven solutions and products to enable autonomous vehicles, industry 4.0, and smart devices, networks and cities. University of Helsinki is one of the best multidisciplinary research universities in the world. The high-quality research carried out by the university creates new knowledge for educating diverse specialists in various fields, and for utilisation in social decision-making and the business sector.

Our international and interdisciplinary partners

To achieve high market relevance and deep penetration of the market, IML4E brings together various actors, including:

These actors are capable of enhancing the state of the art with methods, tools, and techniques that meet the needs of today and tomorrow to ensure efficient support of ML systems creation and improvements during the whole lifecycle from development to the operation of the final product. 

Vitarex Stúdió

Vitarex Studio Ldt. will lead the Hungarian national consortium of the IML4E project, and as a software developer company, will be the main lead in the development of the case study of Hungary. Vitarex will also provide methods on how the pose estimation model can be debugged.

Basware

As a use case provider and R&D organization, Basware will provide real-life use cases to research organizations and innovate together with partners on the following areas:

  • data versioning, data management, data processing, and managing the data infrastructure
  • MLOPS techniques for easier, faster, and more automated ML operations in development, deployment, and operational stages.

Granlund

In the IML4E project, Granlund will concentrate on the development of ML based solutions and services for smart buildings.

SPICETECH

Spicetech is a company being specialized on the design, development and operation of software and AI-as-a-service solutions. Within the IML4E cooperation Spicetech is focusing on the development of a validation-as-a-service solution, which enables companies to foresee, quantify and reduce risks of its operating AI models.

SIEMENS

With more than 20,000 software developers worldwide, Siemens AG has extensive experience in industrial software production due to its diverse product portfolio, especially regarding realistic scenarios with high demands on reliability, security and trustworthiness. The reliable development of robust AI-based systems has been the subject of several internal research projects and pilot projects. The deployed ML models are subject to ML-typical problems such as data and concept drift, so that updates usually must be implemented manually and accompanied by detailed monitoring activities. Siemens AG serves the IML4E project as a case study partner, to derive requirements towards interoperable MLOps tool stacks and industrial-quality methods.

Budapest University of Technology and Economics

Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) will focus on data preparation, ML model optimization and data version control tools to support the ML development process and the management of large datasets.

Reaktor

Reaktor is a creative technology partner for forward-thinking organizations and societies. Reaktor’s group of 550+ industry-leading experts works with clients such as Adidas, Kone, Supercell, Varian, and Finnair. Based in Helsinki, New York, Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Tokyo, the company crafts digital products, services, and strategies with exceptionally high quality and velocity. Within IML4E Reaktor acts both as a technology and use case provider, and we will develop methods, tools, and ways-of-working to augment business processes with ML, especially from the point of view of consultancy, agile SW development, and service design.

University of Helsinki

University of Helsinki will be the national coordinator of Finland and will develop techniques, tools, and methods for MLOps together with the industrial parners.

In addition to offering ML methodology and solution engineering expertise, Silo AI is creating MLOps practices and assets for fast and trusted AI delivery. Silo AI brings this competence to IML4E and works within IML4E specifically towards advanced data versioning, model metrics, operational ML monitoring, MLOps architectures and integration frameworks.

Fraunhofer FOKUS

Fraunhofer FOKUS will lead the IML4E project and will develop techniques, tools and methods to validate ML data, models and components when used and reused in industrial grade development chains.
